Established by Lionel Teitelbaum, a Ukranian immigrant who settled in Australia in 1909, Evans & Tate is now one of Australia's leading producers of premium wines. It is situated in the Margaret River area of South West Australia, a region which is considered to be one of the New World's finest wine producing areas.
The unique terroir of the Margaret River combines a maritime climate with well drained soils. Evans and Tate make excellent use of their terroir to produce fruit driven, expressive wines of elegance and finesse. In addition to the traditional Margaret River varietals of Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay, Evans and Tate also grow an impressive range of varieties less common to the region, including Sauvigon Blanc, Merlot and Shiraz.
